Corporate Guardian, SmoothGuardian and SchoolGuardian are all excellent choices for an effective content-filtering solution. These products block access to objectionable content, discourage wasteful surfing activities, prevent downloading of large file and eliminate dangerous scripts, ActiveX, Java and other in-page threats.

Dynamic Content Analysis ( Active Content Filtering) is the key technology that makes SmoothWall's Guardian solutions so much more effective than other filtering products.

Corporate Guardian is a software application that delivers a stand-alone content filter and is designed for configurations that prefer not to replace their existing firewall. SmoothGuardian is available as an add-on module that integrates directly with the SmoothWall Corporate Firewall and Advanced Firewall products.

SchoolGuardian is a special bundle of SmoothWall products priced and packaged for the Education Market. The SchoolGuardian solution includes Corporate Firewall, SmoothGuardian and the SmoothRule network module product as well as upgrade assurance and a block/phareslist subscription. The complete suite is priced very aggressively, making this an ideal choice for schools.

The active content filter scans web pages for words and phrases from numerous categories, including pornography, violence, drugs, racial hatred and gambling. A sophisticated page weighting system recognises content that is clearly work related, so avoiding the problem of over blocking medical and technical pages experienced by other content filters.
