Maximise your resources

The volume of unsolicited bulk correspondence, or spam, is growing by the day. Time spent deleting spam is time wasted, which costs your business money. Any comprehensive information security system should include protection against spam.

Keep mailboxes clean

Kaspersky Anti-Spam detects spam in incoming mail transmitted by SMTP and filters it out before mail is forwarded to the recipient. Depending on configuration, spam can be

  • delivered to the original address (as initially sent or with changes)
  • deleted
  • redirected to a predefined address

Multi-tier filtration

The solution analyses and filters incoming mail in a variety of ways, checking both the mail body and attachments:

  • formal attributes: sender and recipient address, sender's IP address, size, format etc.
  • search for words and phrases typically used by spammers
  • SpamTest™ technology: a unique linguistic kernel compares incoming mail against sample spam signatures
  • Realtime Blackhole Lists: filters out messages from officially blacklisted addresses as well as using local black and white lists created by adminstrators
  • analysis of graphics
  • detection of atypical spammer tricks: HTML tags, invisible text etc.

Flexible adminstration

An built-in adminstration module based on a web interface allows administrators to modify program settings from any node in the network e.g. change parameters for automatic spam database updates or add new signatures directly to the database.

Compatibility

Kaspersky Anti-Spam is compatible with all commonly used mail systems, making it easy to integrate the solution into existing network configurations regardless of operating system.
The solution is flexible enough to be used either as a separate filter or a full-scale enterprise mail server supporting Sendmail, qmail, CommuniGate Pro, Postfix or Exim.

Linguistic database updates

One of the core elements of the solution is a linguistic database containing spam signatures. Updates to the database are released every two hours. Upgrades to Kaspersky Anti-Spam include upgraded versions of the linguistic kernel.
